Roofers in St John's Wood

Roofing and guttering in St John's Wood, NW8

St John's Wood was one of the first London suburbs built around villas rather than terraces, and many of its early Victorian semi-detached and detached houses survive between Abbey Road, Hamilton Terrace and the streets around Lord's. Low-pitched slate roofs with wide eaves, stucco fronts and big gardens are typical.

Wide eaves mean long runs of fascia, soffit and gutter, and on these houses they are often timber that has been painted over for decades. Low-pitched slate also depends on good lead at the hips and abutments, because the water moves slowly over a shallow roof.

We repair and re-slate shallow roofs, renew lead, replace rotten timber eaves and fit gutters and downpipes that suit the house. Each quote is free and explains the materials as well as the price.
